BEECHNUT PLANT – CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. [handwritten front caption]
Description
A black and white postcard featuring the Beechnut Plant along the Erie Canal in Canajoharie, New York. Three main buildings face the canal. The factory, closest to the viewer, is dominated by glass windows. A few of the windows are open. The factory is attached to a brick office building. The words (BACON) and (PLANT) are prominent in the signage above these two buildings. Between the buildings, obstructed by ladders and scaffolding, is sign that reads "BEECH-NUT / PACKING CO." There is a white boat docked on the canal below the factory. The third building, farthest from the viewer, stands alone.
