Le Vieux Papier' ('Old Paper') was a "Society for the Study of everyday life through the documents and iconography" and was founded in 1900. Léon Provost was at one time the secretary of the society and this card lists his business address as Rue de Bourgogne, Paris. The card depicts a man, seated in a library and reading an issue of Le Vieux Papier with a dog at his side.
